Did you make reels or are you planning to?

For some reason Instagram is not showing the tag in IG reels and some of them don’t show in the general post view either! Make sure you tag me in your post so I can see your entries!

Because of this I’ve added to the rules (November 8th) that you should also tag @dragetarr to your entries.

We've received some questions regarding to the competition, so we will update questions and answers here.

We keep updating this page all the time as we get more questions.

QUESTION: Is digital art allowed?

REPLY: Yes. Medium and technique are free.

QUESTION: Can the template be cropped to fit Instagram post format?

REPLY: Yes. We understand that the template is a bit trickily shaped to fit IG post format. If needed it can be cropped from the top, but the logo must be shown at the bottom. In this case make sure that you place your precious art so that it won’t be cropped away.

Below you can find some ideas on how you can fit the whole template.

This requires a photo editing program. You can add a background around the template, so it fits IG better.

You can also take a photo of your artwork, just include the whole template in the photo.

QUESTION: Is it okay to add to the lineart? For example I’d like to draw my wing idea over the lines- is this okay or should I use the outer area only for this?

REPLY: Yes you can draw over the lines. The template is there to help everyone have Salvador’s proportions right. You’re free to go outside of the lines and add what ever you like to your dragon design. We don’t want to restrict your imagination.

QUESTION: “the rules say: the artwork must be in the proportions of the template. Is that on or within? Can I add fur and feathers and maybe feet?”

REPLY: Short answer is yes. You’re free to go outside of the lines and add what you like.

Longer answer To make rules simpler, I have deleted the “In order to qualify, the posted artwork must be in the proportions of the template” part from the rules. This seems to have caused some confusion. In short, it is important that your design and the logo are shown in your submissions.

QUESTION: If I have multiple slides in my post, should I place the correctly placed template first and freeform after?

REPLY: Please yes post the “correct” post first. Otherwise, we may not take your participation in count in the end. This will make our judging work easier and we will be spared from unnecessary misunderstandings.

QUESTION: If I post multiple entries, should these be in separate posts?

REPLY: It’s not a must, but separate posts do increase your chances of winning in ‘likes’ categories.

QUESTION: Can we enter the same design both as a post and a reel?

REPLY: Yes you can.
